How it all began
The idea of hand-sewing colourful turbans and headbands came to me back in 2018, when my daughter Melania was born, but it was in May 2019 that I finally made it happen. At first I was driven by the wish to create products mainly for little ones: to adorn the heads of tiny people with beautiful, practical and comfortable turbans and headbands made from high-quality materials.
Our story
Over time it became clear that my handmade pieces are tasteful headwear not only for children. Today I can confidently say that Melchika means turbans and headbands for both children and adults.
The name Melchika comes from the name of my wonderful daughter (Melania) and the Spanish word “chica”, meaning girl. Our product names are also inspired by Spanish.
